How to Get a Library Card

Complete an application at the Athenaeum. Persons wishing to sign up for a library card must present photo ID and proof of current address.

Free accounts

• St. Johnsbury residents and taxpayers

• St. Johnsbury students

• Educators

• Homeschool families

There is a $15.00 annual chargefor all other card accounts.

Loan Periods

• 2 weeks: New fiction and DVDs, Launchpads, Brickmath, Yoto materials

• 3 weeks:All other books, magazines, and audiobooks

• 3 days:All museum and park passes

Renewals

2 week materials and park passes cannot be renewed. All other materials can be renewed up to two (2) times if no one is waiting on the item Renewals can be made over the phone, via email, or by logging into your library account (KOHA) .

Overdue Fines

The Athenaeum operates as a fine-free library. Patrons are expected to make every effort to return materials by their designated due dates. They are responsible for all items checked out on their accounts, including the cost of any materials that are lost or damaged.
